Teen Lab at the Art Institute of Chicago

In November, artist and poet Eve Ewing visited Teen Lab to discuss her most recent book of poetry, "Electric Arches". Eve selected poems to read based on the idea of journeys, the theme of our Fall 2017 semester, and a series of questions designed to explore the past, present, and future. Eve then gave a presentation on modern and contemporary visual artists that have influenced her practice. Artists such as Romare Bearden, Faith Ringgold, Kerry James Marshall, and Nick Cave were presented and inspired many final showcase artworks.
