Teen Lab is a collective of thinkers, writers and artists that ask pointed questions about what art is, who art is for and what art does. We’ve made the studios of the Art Institute our home, and it’s from within the Museum’s walls that we explore the potential of our own artistic practices. As a group, we experiment with different techniques and mediums, discuss other artist’s work and share our ideas and perspectives. We learn about the art world and become inspired by the Chicago arts scene by looking at the Museum’s vast collections and taking field trips to local art events and venues.

Our community celebrates individuality the freedom of expression in a safe, non-judgmental environment. While we’re serious about our commitment to open-mindedness and creativity, we’re also passionate about eating oreos, listening to good music and having the occasional dance-party.
