Teen Lab at the Art Institute of Chicago

Thursday Night Hangs is a free program hosted by Chicago teens at the Art Institute of Chicago featuring live artist performances and experimental programs. 

 

Before the program began, Teen Lab visited the exhibit "My Room is Another Fishbowl" by Philippe Parreno to explore the possibilities of alternative universes with helium filled fish.

In February, sound artist Yuri Suzuki designed several pieces in collaboration with students from the School of the Art Institute for the public to engage with. Each piece was meant to produce a sound unique to a movement read by a sensor, these sensors were placed on balloons and cardboard instruments to add an element of playfulness. Teen Lab members were also given the opportunity to ask Yuri about his ambitious projects and current artistic influences.
