Art is one of the principal tools young people have used to express their experience especially in urban environments.

 

This semester Teen Lab will explore different art forms and groups that have offered young people an avenue to tell their stories. The goal of this session is to understand the institutions around us and how young creatives can navigate their creative careers with a better sense of community and tools to advance their art practice.

Throughout the semester Amara Martin (Rebel Betty) has organized art projects, guided tours of the Art Institute, visiting artist lectures, and zine workshops to answer the question of what it means to be an artists.
