Teen Lab at the Art Institute of Chicago

In early February, artist and community organizer Rebel Betty lead a workshop in which each Teen Lab member designed a personalized zine to share with their community. Rebel Betty kicked off the workshop by sharing her collection of self published zines with the group. This led to a discussion around the history of zines and their relationship to politics and social justice.  Many of the zines developed in Teen Lab during the workshop represented topics such as feminism, colorism, and latinx identity.
