MEMORY BOX WORKSHOP WITH KUSH THOMPSON
In late November, artist and poet Kush Thompson ran a workshop in which Teen Lab members created memory box/miniature altars from 90's VHS tapes and clamshell cases to store childhood artifacts. Kush kicked off the workshop by asking our teens memory triggering questions about their childhood. These answers formed a poem and served as inspiration for their sculptural objects. Many of our Teen Lab members explored embroidery and collaging methods to re-live the aesthetics of their childhood.
