HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR ARTISTIC STYLE? 

I would describe it as very messy, not defined. I can’t really draw so I express my art through painting. When I paint it's more abstract, it's not one thing. It's just a whole bunch of feelings coming out of a paint brush and onto a canvas. It’s all over the place and I hope people will see what I see but they often see what they want, and that is awesome too.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO CREATE?

My mom inspires me, she’s pushed me through everything and we’ve been through a lot together. The fact that she can have my back even though she’s been through a lot helps me keep going.

HOW DO YOU APPROACH EACH NEW PIECE?

My process is kind of random, if I am in the mood to paint then I will paint but if I am in the mood to draw or write, then I will do that. The stuff I paint and draw is pretty deep so it really depends on how I feel.

WHAT DOES TEEN LAB MEAN TO YOU? .

To me, it’s a way of experiencing something new. I like doing a lot of things, I am very active, and I want to be able to experience everything. Being in Teen Lab it’s just a whole different thing that I have yet to experience before. It’s really a great opportunity, I didn’t even know that I would be here but my mom said ‘Ocieann you’re going to the Art Institute tomorrow’ and I was like ‘What?!’
