My art is focused on helping others see that oppressed people are just as human as everyone else. I am an activist, and that fact is apparent in all of my works, be it little or enormous. It also tells stories about who I am, who I want to be, and who I was. Through my art, I attempt to let people recognize their greatness through my own experiences; most times, I try to create things that are relatable. To do this, I use vibrant colors (in any medium, but mostly color pencil, marker, and acrylic) to pop out at you and ingrain the image in your mind; I also write poetry and stories to satiate those who are not visual people.

Art is one of my more memorable passions, in the way that I make and live in/as it everyday. Being outside causes me to be inspired because of the amount of different situations just staring me down as I live life. These range from simple things like not understanding problems on a math test to not understanding why some people have a strong hatred for those who look different than they do.

In my artwork, a few frequently seen topics are feminism, racial equality, and acceptance of those in the LGBTQ+ community. Although I have more issues to talk about, I focus on these mainly because, as a young, African American girl living in an unjust country/world, I feel it best to advocate for my communities, and those who are cut down with a similar axe as I am. Nowadays, my art is getting to be more intense and could hurt some people who do not want to face the truth; it is necessary to address these faults in the nation if we want to make a change for the better. What better way to do so than through art?
