The motivation of my art is my present day and the path to the future. The coming of age is most important to me because it is what affects me the most. Emotions and experiences I am going through at the moment drives me to express it tangibly. In effect, I work mostly with black and white realism since it coincides with the realistic in-the-moment theme. My art illustrates darker themes of growing up such as the stresses and moving on in life with burdens. However, through showing struggles of the present and seemingly disastrous events in a teen’s life, I also focus on the limitless possibilities of the future.

What can be seen in my art is a human subject and something space related. Art is important to me when it is about people and their real life experiences. Plus, drawing detailed faces is really fun and it is something I am good at. On the flip side, I include a universe theme or sunset colors to add mood of a mysterious, yet hopeful future. I juxtapose the concrete present to a fluid, structureless future to show my audience that there’s always another chance and nothing is set in life.
