Often, as an artist, I catch myself emphasizing what I want people to know about my personal life. A lot of what I am encompasses my past and the relationships I have with the people around me. My work often addresses the misconceptions people have about myself and my race, along with the city of Chicago (especially the economic diversity of it).

Creating art for me is a way to demonstrate how I feel about myself and the world around me without feeling using words. My pieces amplify my own voice, and assist in making my voice heard. I am a firm believer that art makes an impact on how we human beings view the world–I want the viewer to see my work and have a moment where they can either connect with it, or have an oh moment where they take a new insight away with them.
